WASHINGTON — As the Washington Redskins wrapped up their dismal 2019 campaign, tickets for their Week 12 matchup at FedEx Field against the Detroit Lions were going for as little as $5 on the secondary market.
For the diehard football fans, or those just curious about the sport’s newest pro venture, the cost of attending the opening game in the revamped XFL between the DC Defenders and Seattle Dragons cost a bit more.
In the hours before kickoff, prices on secondary ticket marketplaces, including StubHub and Ticketmaster, ranged from $130 to as expensive as $675 on some sites. The entire Defenders’ season ticket package (which does not include the season opener) is selling for $80 on the team’s website.

As recently as last week, tickets were going for about $15 in the same marketplaces.
XFL officials anticipate a near-sellout crowd between 18-21,000 at Audi Field on Saturday.
